Ryan Halter, owner of the iconic Steveston Tattoo Company since it opened in 2011.

Prior to opening the shop, business owner Ryan Halter worked eight years alongside mentor John “The Dutchman” at Dutchman Tattoos as well as many other shops along the path of his career. His drawing and painting has been a lifelong passion and his background in graphic design shines through in his commitment to delivering strong, clean, effective tattooing.

He enjoys to tattoo American traditional as well as Japanese inspired tattoos both done in small scale and large scale work . His years of experience mean he’s great at the technical elements, and he said he’s also learned how to communicate with clients to get a sense of their vision.

Halter got into tattooing in the late 1990s, at a time when it was more sub-culture than pop-culture.

He says his style is “bold and timeless.” It’s a description he thinks he’s earned over the course of his over 25 year career.

Kris Hearn, has been tattooing since 2006, with the last 5+years here at Steveston Tattoo Co..

During that time he has worked hard at developing a wide range of styles with the majority of his focus being on realism and neo traditional.

Richard was born and raised in central Alberta and has been tattooing for 14 years. Passionate about traditional American and Japanese styles these are what inspire most of his work.

Developing his style in street shops for over a decade Richard has been fortunate to learn a large variety of styles inculding traditional, Japanese, fine line, and black and grey realism to tribal and watercolour.

Richard has been tattooing at Steveston tattoo since 2021 and is always excited to hear your tattoo ideas and help turn them into a tattoo that you will love to live in.w
